Q&A with Marky Funk (The Apples - funk, jazz and groove band)
את markey funk אפשר למצוא בין היתר כחבר בלהקת ״התפוחים״ אבל לא רק, הוא גם כותב מוזיקה, מפיק מוזיקה, אוסף תקליטים ומתקלט ברחבי הארץ ובאירופה. (אנגלית ואז עברית)

Marky Funk is a member of the band “The Apples”, however, not only is he part of this band but he writes his own music, produces music, works as a DJ and records collections all over the country as well as in Europe.
Although Markey has only lived in Jerusalem from the age of 16, he feels most natural and at home in this city. In his opinion Jerusalem is an environment that inspires interest and creativity more than anywhere else.

How would you describe yourself in one word?
Learner
The reason being that every subject that I happen to deal with - whether it be a music production, writing, or record collecting -  always comes hand in hand with study, research, discovery and a process of learning new things. This one of my favourite factors about every creative process.

How do you change the world every day?
As long as my music or my ideas or my DJ-sets change someone’s life (even if for a few moments) - my mission is accomplished.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
It’s really hard to tell. I rarely think far beyond a particular current project (or projects). I hope to keep on touring (both with The Apples, and as a DJ), as I’ve been doing in the last 3 years, and keep visiting new places and meeting new audiences. I hope to have more collaborative projects in the near future.  As much as I love being in total control over my music, nothing compares to the magic that happens when two or more minds create together.

Share your knowledge. Never stop discovering new things.

מארקי פאנק הוא ירושלמי מגיל 16, אבל מרגיש פה הכי טבעי שיש. לדעתו יש פה את הסביבה יוצרת המעניינת והיצירתית ביותר בארץ.

במילה אחת, כיצד היית מגדיר את עצמך?
למדן (Learner)
בין אם אני עוסק בהפקת מוזיקה, כתיבה או הקלטת אלבומים, אני תמיד לומד, חוקר ומגלה דברים חדשים. זו הדרך בה אני עובד, ומפתח כל פעילות יצירתית. ואני אוהב את זה בדיוק ככה.

כיצד את משנה את העולם בכל יום?
כל עוד המוזיקה שלי, הרעיונות שלי ומערכי ה-DJ שלי מצליחים לשנות ולהשפיע, אפילו לכמה רגעים, על מישהו או מישהו, המשימה שלי הסתיימה.
אני לא מפריד בין העבודה לבין חיי הפרטיים. אבל תחומי העניין שלי בתוך המוזיקה מגוונים, מה שאני מפיק יכול להיות מאוד שונה ממה שאני מתקלט. זו דרך חיים.

איפה נמצא אותך בעוד 5 שנים?
לעתים נדירות אני מצליח לחשוב רחוק יותר מהפרוייקטים שאני עובד עליהם ממש עכשיו. טוב לי במקום שאני נמצא בו, זאת אומרת, אני מקווה להמשיך להופיע עם התפוחים ולתקלט כ- DJ כמו ב-3 שנים האחרונות.
אני מאוד אוהב להכיר קהלים ומקומות חדשים, אז להכיר עוד יהיה מצוין. במקביל, אני מקווה לשתף פעולה עם אמנים נוספים - למרות שאני אוהב ליצור בעצמי את המוזיקה, שום דבר לא משתווה לתחושה הקסומה כששני מוחות מצליחים לייצר עיבוד מוזיקלי טוב.
