Join best-selling author Jamie as she shares her remarkable journey of navigating life after losing her sight three years ago. In this deeply personal and inspiring workshop, Jamie will guide us through the in-between moments of acceptance, surrender, and resilience, offering insights into how challenges can be sacred opportunities for growth. With authenticity and self-compassion, she invites us to embrace vulnerability, presence, and the power of designing a future rooted in intentional vision. Walk away with practical tools and a grounding mantra to help you live more fully in the now. This is a journey of transformation, trust, and the beauty of adapting to life’s unexpected turns.

Just as nature moves in cycles of renewal, our lives flow through seasons of change, loss, and rebirth. Join healing arts practitioner Linda Anne Goulet for an enlightening exploration of navigating life’s cycles, especially during the emotionally complex holiday season. Drawing from ancient wisdom traditions and modern understanding, Linda weaves together Taoist practices, Peruvian healing arts, and contemporary psychology to create a compassionate approach to transformation.

Through gentle Qigong movements, shared reflections, and collective wisdom, you’ll discover practical tools for finding strength and solace during challenging times. This interactive session offers pathways to honor your journey while building emotional resilience and connecting with others who understand. Whether your experience of loss is fresh or long-held, this gathering provides both practical strategies for emotional well-being and a nurturing space for authenticity.

Come as you are to explore time-tested practices that can help transform challenging holiday moments into opportunities for meaningful connection and personal growth. Together, we’ll discover ways to create new meaning while honoring our individual paths through life’s most profound cycles.

Ever notice how pulling one thread can transform an entire piece of fabric? The same is true for our bodies and our lives. Join embodiment specialist and clothing designer Domini Anne for an enlightening exploration of how physical and creative patterns interweave to shape our experience.

Drawing from her unique background in movement and design, Domini will guide us through an interactive journey that reveals the surprising connections between physical tension, creative blocks, and personal growth. Through gentle movement exploration and partner exercises, you’ll discover how “following the thread” of curiosity can unravel stuck patterns and open new pathways for expression.

Whether you’re facing creative challenges, seeking fresh perspective, or simply curious about the mind-body connection, this session offers practical tools for transformation. Come prepared to unwind, reflect, and discover how unraveling one thread might just reveal a whole new pattern of possibilities.

Domini Anne has dedicated her career to understanding the profound connections that thread through movement and design. As both a clothing designer and multi-disciplinary movement educator, she weaves together anatomical understanding with embodied intelligence, pioneering a “movement agnostic” approach that awakens both body and mind. Through her dynamic teaching practice, she reveals how physical and creative patterns intertwine, showing how unraveling familiar habits—whether in fabric or movement—can lead to unexpected discoveries and new forms of expression.

Hello CreativeMornings Community!

A special shoutout to our February speaker, the incredible Kate Kondratieva, for her openness, storytelling, and vulnerability. Kate’s deeply authentic and humanistic narrative about her journey from Ukraine to Carmel lifted our community in new ways.

This March, we are excited to welcome a phenomenal new speaker, Rachelle Escamilla, the newly appointed Poet Laureate of Monterey County.

Rachelle, a celebrated Chicana poet from California’s Central Coast, brings a rich background in poetry, nonfiction, scholarship, and creative media. Her work encompasses three poetry books, and also a pivotal role in founding multiple organizations and hosting a renowned poetry radio show. Rachelle’s accolades include prestigious awards and a visiting scholarship at the Library of Congress focused on migrant laborers’ rights. Now, as the 2024/25 Poet Laureate of Monterey County, she is set to inspire us with her incredible achievements and dedication to social causes. Hello CreativeMornings Community!

As we step into the fresh energy of February, I want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to the fantastic speakers we had in January - Stephanie Wittels Wachs and Megan Cassamas. Their insights and stories were truly inspiring and brought a unique perspective to our community. The energy and meaning was palpable. As host, CreativeMornings (after 5 sessions) has begun to feel like a true third place. Greeting friends every month, the energy before we start, the first taste of coffee at Wave Street … It’s just goodness.

Moving on to February, we are thrilled to introduce Kate Kondratieva. Kate’s journey from Ukraine to Carmel is a story of geographical transition and immense personal and professional evolution. You can learn more about her talk here.

We are immensely grateful to Wave Street Studios for their continuous support. Their contribution to making these events possible is invaluable. Do check them out here.

A special thanks goes to Sean Perlmutter, a warm and wonderful MRY regular, who has been working with Kate in preparation for her talk. His volunteer spirit is truly appreciated.

This February, our theme is “Native.” We are excited to hear from Kate, a native of Ukraine, as she shares her incredible journey and experiences. In line with this theme, we also plan to recognize and honor the native community of the Monterey Peninsula in meaningful and respectful ways.

Join us for what promises to be another unforgettable session. Don’t forget to register for the event here. Looking forward to seeing you there!
