Meet Asis

What’s your day job?

I design mobile user experiences for all the app undertakings at Healthline media. I work with an amazing team of product manager, developers, editorial designers and illustrators. I feel, my work is like trying to compose a symphony on the business side and delivering a performance for the users. There are tensions, lot of going back and forth, clutter but eventually it leads to clarity and you have a design. This is then consumed by the users like a piece of music which is delightful and fulfilling.

What’s your favorite breakfast food?

My favorite breakfast is a sinful omelette made with mushrooms and chorizo cooked in butter. The Scandinavian low carb high fat diet has been working wonderfully.

Where’s a place you’d stop on a free afternoon in SF?

Many many places, to an extent that’s the beauty of SF. If I have to pick one then it has to be at SFMOMA to brood over sitting across the “Red Curves” piece by Ellsworth Kelly.

What’s one thing you’ve been inspired by lately?

Right now, in this week and the last I’m inspired by an entrepreneur in India, Shashank MD. He’s an underdog who hasn’t graduated from prominent school, yet by sheer perseverance is single handedly changing the Indian healthcare system.

Tell us something about yourself that we wouldn’t be able to guess.

That I’m an introvert. This has always surprised people.
