Our September event marked CreativeMornings/Helsinki’s 11th birthday!
And of course, no birthday should pass without cake and flowers — which made our September speaker, Kati Mayfield, the perfect match for the celebration.
Kati is the founder of FloweRescue ry, a nonprofit organization based in Helsinki with a simple yet powerful mission: to salvage imperfect flowers from vendors and give them new life by curating and delivering them to seniors and other vulnerable groups.
Through her own experiences, Kati has seen firsthand how flowers can spark joy and bring positive emotions to those in need. Beyond the beauty, she is deeply devoted to advocating for more sustainable practices in the floral industry, while using creativity and community to connect people with meaningful, blossoming bouquets.
Since its founding, FloweRescue has rescued over 300,000 flowers, operated with the help of 900 volunteers, and shared floral love with thousands of beneficiaries.
On our beautiful birthday morning, Kati shared her passion and vision for creating circular flower solutions and building a compassionate, connected community. Her story reminded us that creativity can take root anywhere — and when nurtured, it helps everyone blossom.
We´re also celebrating the artistry of Tamara Mezina @artktika, whose stunning illustrations captur the warmt, joy and creative spirit of our community. Her birthday illustrations perfectly reflect the heart of CreativeMornings/Helsinki -colourfull, fun and full of life.

Here’s to 11 years of CreativeMornings/Helsinki — and to many more mornings of inspiration, creativity, and connection.
