Erin Murphy is a Designer and Researcher at Jane Street, where she is building a User Experience Design culture, collaborating with engineering teams, and exploring the complexities of quantitative trading systems. She began her career in user-centered design at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, optimizing rover operations for the Mars 2020/Perseverance rover and using storyboarding techniques for science operations systems design. Erin then moved to New York to enhance streaming experiences for millions of viewers at HBO. Passionate about the fast-paced consulting world, she founded her own design practice, By Tomo Labs. Erin is an avid learner, science communicator, and illustrator, with a current focus on building design communities, knowledge sharing, and science illustration.
