Cristina Portolano was born in Naples in 1986. After High school she moved to Bologna for study at the Academy of Fine Arts which she attended from 2006 to 2012 with a one-year in Paris at the EnsAD. His make several comic books: "QUASI SIGNORINA" (Topipittori, 2016) reprinted in Italy and translated in English for the One Percent Press publishing house, "I DON'T KNOW WHO YOU ARE" (Rizzoli Lizard, 2017) born on the PATREON platform, translated in Spain by the Ponent Mon and in France for Rackham editions, "I’m the Sea" (Canicola, 2018) translated in Spanish and Swedish, a book for boys and girls for gender equality funded through a crowdfunding campaign and "FRANCIS BACON, the violence of a rose "(Centauria, 2019) published in Italy and France by Editions du Chêne. She has published drawings and illustrations in both volumes "Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls" published in Italy by Mondadori and published all over the world, and other illustrations and comics for the comics of Feltrinelli, Loescher, Il Messaggero, Linus, Edizioni EL, ARTribune, Il Sole 24 ORE, The reading of Corriere della Sera, The foreigner, Italian illustrator, Hamelin, Soccer Illustrated, Illywords, Napoli Monitor, and various self-production collectives. Collaborates with the portal FREEDA and Internazionale Kids. She is an illustration professor at IAAD in Bologna.
