Hard working maker, wife, mother, Breakfast Club fan and RISD grad. Operating at the intersection of white space and functionality to craft meaningful visual solutions. Seeking to design a world that's thoughtful, considered and aesthetically pleasing.
Design. Graphics, Branding, digital marketing, social media, UI/UX app development... and seniors (yes, as in senior citizens!) I also know a lot about crafting, making, materials, and methods of all kinds. I love adhesives and I pride myself on knowing what adhesive to use for every application! :-)
Almost everything.... like, parenting, decorum, keeping quiet etc. I am opinionated and I need help remembering that not everybody wants to hear what I think... but I'd be happy to tell you! :-) Professionally I need help with organization (sometimes) and Excel because designers don't play well with Excel (IMO). I also need help with MATH.
Hands down the best advice I've received which is often hard to follow is: "Keep your mouth shut". Or in a more PC way, try to remember to only offer your opinion when it will be valuable.
I admire my husband because he seems to always have confidence about how to handle difficult situations with other people... and although I don't always agree with what he chooses to do (or say) I do admire his self confidence in almost every situation.... and his intelligence and thoughtfulness!
The career I would LOVE to believe my back up career is either, high-powered Costume Designer (like for film/tv etc) OR... event designer for weddings and corporate events. Both of these are still design related so they are just a side step from where I am now... but the y both seem light years away from what I am currently doing.
Almost nothing. As I get older I find I REALLY need to write EVERYTHING down (or set a reminder, or write myself an email).... but the few things I CAN remember are to love my family, and do the dishes??
I love teaching so I would be happy to teach anybody anything I know.. but if I got to choose, I'd teach someone how to sew, because I think it is a really important life skill no matter what you do for a living!
