I used to be a traditional artist, working in paint, sculpture, drawing. Then I realized my work wasn't seen in the way I had envisioned for it, so I then made the transition into photography. Because I felt I could create work that would allow the viewer to envision themselves in the piece. Almost as if they were a part of the narrative. I create works with symbolism, depth, and narrative in an effort to make my photography as artistically strong as a fine art painting. Recently I started working on a series called: "Forced Reactions," which explores and quite literally creates single and multiple frame narratives about depression, addiction, anxiety, mental disorders, and suicide.  In an effort to change or at least influence others minds to confront the fact that mental illness is a real thing and just because in some cases you can't see it or touch it or hold it doesn't mean it's not a problem. Basically I'm creating images that are disturbing, because each image tells a truth about problems that are happening all around us, so that those who are in suffering may one day be met with compassion instead of anger. I started all this, because I myself was an alcoholic and I want to raise awareness by depicting what it's like in the life or in the mind of those living and suffering from any form of mental illnesses
