“‘Ripple’ - it’s a beautiful word. Like bubble and little, it makes you smile.”

Adam Orman, restaurateur and co-founder of Good Work Austin, talks about living wages, equity, and community impact during one of the most difficult and unprecedented times in restaurant history.

About the speaker

Adam has worked in the restaurant industry for over 20 years in New York, San Francisco and Austin.

He opened L'Oca d'Oro, an Italian neighborhood restaurant in Mueller in 2016 with his business partner, Chef Fiore Tedesco. There, they make all their cheeses, salumi and pasta in house, plus guarantee their entire staff a living wage, direct primary care access, and $10 counseling sessions.

In 2019, he co-founded Good Work Austin to provide support and resources to small businesses that want to implement progressive benefits for their employees and promote sustainable growth in Austin.

Ever since March 2020, nothing has made sense to him.
