About the speaker

Shani Harvie is Director of New Mexico’s Creative Industries Division within the state’s Economic Development Department (EDD). A graduate of New Mexico School of the Arts and University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Management, Shani is passionate about systems change, creativity, and economic equity. She was instrumental in establishing EDD’s Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Office, and she has worked across government, nonprofit, and philanthropic sectors to expand opportunities for underserved businesses. As a small business advocate, she champions creative entrepreneurship and initiatives that support New Mexico’s growing creative economy.
