About the speaker

Christian Davenport - better known as Cubs the Poet - is a modern-day wordsmith who considers each day a new painting and a new poem. While he has written poems since 1989, it was later in life that he studied psychology in school. That's when he began thinking for himself. It wasn't long before he decided to study life outside of the classroom, attempting to unlearn and redefine the meaning of my life while spreading love to others. He began typing poems on a typewriter, in the middle of the French Quarter on Royal Street, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Now he is writing his first book What I Did With My Free Time while also serving as the first Poet Laureate of Baton Rouge, LA.
