Dean Jenkins is the founder of computer science academy, Codez Academy.
Growing up, Dean found traditional education difficult and left school with few prospects, having struggled with dyslexia. He bounced between various job roles, including work in the construction sector and setting up a sweet-shop business, before securing work as a web designer. From here, things began to look up. Dean realised his interest in pairing web design and teaching and so Codez Academy was born.
Codez Academy aims to engage students and show them that learning can be hands-on and fun and is for everyone, of all backgrounds and abilities. With ‘courage’ being this month’s global CreativeMornings theme, Dean will share his Codez Academy story so far.
