About the speaker
Philippe Lazaro is a storyteller for climate and culture.
Philippe tells stories focused on justice and how people across cultures and borders create change, from people who’ve escaped North Korea, kids growing up in crime-heavy South African neighborhoods, and families creating peace in post-conflict Colombia. Through visual art, longform videos, writing, and photography, Philippe seeks to help people see the world up close through stories and to look for the deeper story behind headlines. He is currently most invested in doing that for the biggest crisis of our generation: the climate crisis.
Since 2017, Philippe has been a storytelling partner for climate-vulnerable communities, amplifying the voices of community members and highlighting their efforts to create change. As a storyteller for the international nonprofit Plant With Purpose, he highlights the life-changing impact of planting trees, organizing communities, and restoring ecosystems.
