About the speaker

George Davis IV is the Executive Director of the LouCity & Racing Foundation. The foundation aims to create opportunities for young
people, using soccer as a tool to break down barriers and provide access. He is also a co-founder of the West Louisville Soccer
Initiative, serving students and schools without soccer teams and providing access to students who want to continue playing at
competitive levels.
The LouCity & Racing Foundation launched in summer 2022 with George Davis IV as the inaugural Program Director. In its first year,
it ran 5 P.I.T.C.H. programs, 13 clinics, distributed 1,000 pieces of equipment, and engaged 1,600 youth. By 2024, the Foundation
expanded to 11 P.I.T.C.H. programs, 36 clinics, 6,774 pieces of equipment, and served over 3,200 youth participants. It has also
partnered with the Kentucky Association of Health Plans, Parks and Recreation, and the US Soccer Foundation to install a mini-pitch
at Russell Lee Park and plans to build many more.
The Ohio native previously played eleven seasons as a professional soccer player, most recently with Louisville City FC since 2016.
Before he arrived in Louisville, George also played for Richmond Kickers, Orlando City SC, Orange County SC, and Dayton Dutch Lions
for a total of 282 professional matches, sixty-five goals, and twelve assists.
In 2018, George served as an Interim Co-Head Coach for Louisville City FC. During this time, the team continued a successful run of
form before winning their second USL Championship in consecutive years. In his final year of playing, George served as Team
Administrator, overseeing all operations for the players and staff in 2021. Upon retiring from playing, George joined the coaching
staff for Louisville City FC and accepted the role with the Foundation in 2022.
George was a 3-time All-League selection for his performances in 2011, 2013, and 2014, and a leading member of the 2017 and 2018
USL Champions, Louisville City FC. He served as an Assistant coach for the University of Northwestern Ohio (2012-2015) and
Hanover University (2016-2017), Academy Coach for Louisville City and Racing Academy, and currently holds his U.S. Soccer “B”
License. George continues to serve in multiple roles that support and mentor players who have a passion for the game of soccer.
Additionally, Davis has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from the University of Kentucky and is a member of
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He also serves on the Greater Louisville UK Alumni Board and volunteers for Big Brothers Big Sisters of
Kentuckiana.
