Grace Aheron speaks on creative activism and the power of community.
About the speaker
Grace Aheron is a multi-racial queer Southerner from Roanoke, Virginia. Dubbed a "people weaver" by friends, Grace is motivated by the conviction that collective liberation is for everyone, and lately has been working to help build collective power in Charlottesville, Virginia by mobilizing white people into action for racial justice. Her creative work is helping vision communities that are so strong, we no longer need the government or economically-driven structures to survive. She currently lives in Charlottesville at a Christian intentional community that stewards the land and provides hospitality, and organizes with Showing Up For Racial Justice. Her current main artistic engagement is with the Carnival de Resistance.
