Highlights and take-aways from Emily Ash Powell’s ‘Growth’ talk and ‘Collective Group Therapy Session'

In this talk, Emily shares a candid and deeply personal reflection on creativity, performance, vulnerability, and the quiet moments that shape who we are. Moving between humour, storytelling, and self-reflection, she explores how we show up on stages, in our work, and in our everyday lives - and what happens when we let go of the pressure to perform.

About the speaker

Emily Ash Powell is a freelance writer, brand consultant and creative leader. She spent a decade working with some of the UK's fastest-growing startups and scaleups – telling stories, shaping brands and leading creative teams for Bumble, Tony's Chocolonely, Freddie's Flowers, Skin + Me, tails.com and many more. Today, she helps both brands and writers to find their voices, and writes for places like Stylist, Cosmopolitan, the iPaper, HuffPost and Metro, too. Emily is the author of Hurdling, the newsletter, community and writing club that looks at how we get over the things that get in our way. She's a big believer in doing good and having fun, and helping others to find the work that ticks those boxes, too.
