About the speaker

Hannah Palmer is a writer and urban designer obsessed with her hometown of Atlanta. Her award-winning book, Flight Path: A Search for Roots beneath the World’s Busiest Airport, was published in 2017. Part memoir, part cultural history of the New South, Booklist called it “a passionate and gorgeously written reminder of why urban planning matters.”

Hannah works as a designer and community organizer on urban conservation projects. For the last two years, she has led Finding the Flint, a campaign to reveal and restore the lost headwaters of Georgia’s endangered Flint River. She teaches writing at the Decatur Writers Studio and has published essays in Atlanta magazine, CNN.com, Art Papers, and ATL Studies.
