Kobla Tetey, the CEO and co-founder of Break The Box, gives an interactive and inspiring talk on our global theme of divergent and how the divergence of your journey is just as important as where it leads you.

About the speaker

Kobla Tetey is the CEO and co-founder of Break The Box, a full service opportunity zone fund and business incubator, based in Austin. He serves within the Executive team to create lucrative financial opportunities and socially equitable success tools for the Community in Austin. 

As the president of the Austin Area Urban League Young Professionals, Kobla led an increased membership of over 3600%, and won 2019 Chapter President of the year for their work in the community.  He sits on the Board of the Austin Area Urban League and on Capital Factory’s Austin Inclusion Council.

Kobla believes people need leaders and environments that drive them to reach their ultimate potential. He enjoys building successful business cultures that invest in the growth of people, learning new technologies, and understanding what drives people to perform at their optimal level. He was awarded one of the Top Ten Young Professionals by the Austin Black Business Journal, Nominated for 40-under-40 by the Young Women's alliance, nominated and participated in DivInc’s first Social Innovation Incubator for Startups businesses, and was nominated for the DivInc’s Champions of Change Rising Star Award.

Kobla has a bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Management from Bowie State University and a postgraduate degree in Audio Engineering from Full Sail University. He has produced and created music—including Grammy-nominated albums, competed and won fitness competitions, and lived in 6 major cities.
A native of Washington D.C., Kobla now lives in South Austin’s Easton Park neighborhood.
