About the speaker
Kuo Pao Lian is a licensed architect and contractor whose experience includes architecture, design build and development. He has worked as a part time instructor at the School of Architecture + Planning at Morgan State University and through diverse departments ranging from Architecture to Experimental 3D Animation at the Maryland Institute College of Art. His prior professional experience and subsequent collaborations span from single family residential and commercial projects to institutional and urban design proposals. Kuo Pao’s design work and various collaborations have been published nationally and abroad and have received numerous AIA Baltimore & Maryland Design Awards including a number of awards given by the Urban Land Institute of Baltimore. His experience as a designer, business manager, and general contractor allows him to bring a holistic & thoughtful collaborative process to every client and the same rigor towards the company’s own development design-build projects. Kuo Pao is a Member of the Baltimore Public Art Commission for the Baltimore Office of Promotion and The Arts (BOPA), Member of the Commission of Historic
al and Architectural Preservation (CHAP) in Baltimore,
and a member of the I.A.T.S.E Local 487 for Film Production with experience in award winning HBO, Apple TV, and Netflix television shows. He has also served on numerous community organizations including
the Major Capital Improvements Committee for the
Friends of Patterson Park and the Fell’s Point Design Review Committee.
