The liminal space that has existed in recent years has provided opportunities to partner with other individuals to foster COMMUNITY, EQUITY, and SUSTAINABILITY.

Nathan Jordan is a creative director and graphic designer who believes in the power of utilizing design to effect positive change in the communities in which we live and brands with which we interact. He is the co-founder of Uproar Concept, a partnership founded on a shared drive to create, reimagine how creative content is crafted, celebrate the great outdoors, build authentic connections, and develop a more sustainable future. His focus is on developing dynamic creative solutions that support shared values with his clients and collaborators. The liminal space that has existed in recent years has provided opportunities to partner with other individuals to foster COMMUNITY, EQUITY, and SUSTAINABILITY through his work. Nathan will share a story of how his work to develop a campaign to support sustainability and the seven principles of Leave No Trace inspired a community to further embrace and support a more sustainable future. Nathan will then be joined by Reggie Tidwell and Micah Pulleyn to discuss how they worked together to create organizations and events which create equity and a sense of community. As a founding board member of AIGA Asheville, Nathan worked directly with Reggie Tidwell to lay the groundwork for an organization which provides a genuine sense of community for creatives to interact, grow, and thrive. Reggie will join the discussion to talk about his ongoing work as the President of AIGA Asheville and the lessons learned within the liminal space of founding the organization as well as directing it throughout the recent challenging months. Micah Pulleyn is the owner of Catalyst Collaborations who worked with a wide range of dynamic individuals to create an annual event called “Outdoors for All - Old Fort”. She worked with Nathan and his partner Bren Dendy to develop branding, collateral and photography for the event which was created to reimagine how the dramatic experiences that exist in the outdoors can be more equitable and accessible to everyone. Micah will share the story of how the event was developed and trust placed with many wonderful individuals in the liminal space to establish an annual event designed to effect positive change well into the future. We will close with a Q&A with Nathan, Reggie and Micah to explore how these transformative moments exist for all of us and how actions each of them took in the liminal space led to the manifestation of wonderful things. And no matter the size or scope, everyone can be empowered to create positive change within the liminal spaces.
