About the speaker
Stephanie Brown is a painter and tattooist who has been working in the tattooing industry since 2010. A graduate of School of the Art Institute of Chicago, her fine art background informs the way her tattoos are designed and conceptualized. She most enjoys exploring where the construction of painting, her own interest in scientific illustration, and the nuances of tattooing intersect. Stephanie tattoos at Butterfat Studios, a private, appointment-only studio in Logan Square.

Not only that, but you have to tattoo on skin, which is not like paper, at all. It bleeds, it stretches, and it's attached to a person with opinions.
I never asked for any special treatment. I only wanted to do the work that I love to do and to let the work speak for itself.
It's a matter of figuring out what they mean by the things that they say and really pursing down what are the essentials that they want from the work and what I can expand on into something else.
