About the speaker
The thing about treasure is that it can take many forms, both physical and intangible: a family heirloom, cultural heritage, ruins of a faraway time or place.
But how can we cherish our own treasure as well as other's? What happens when we tend to treasures under threat? And what makes us consider some things as treasure?
We're thrilled to explore this theme with our speaker Baiqu Gonkar.
Born in Tibet and growing up in London, Baiqu's childhood experiences profoundly shaped her and instilled in her a great sense of social responsibility. This led her to eventually establish Art Represent, a platform dedicated to the social and economic empowerment of artists affected by conflict; where they have launched impact projects with 10,000+ participants across three continents and five cities, representing more than 50 artists.
Baiqu is currently a Senior Venture Manager at Zinc VC, specialising in supporting the commercialisation of early-stage deeptech ventures, with a passion for healthtech and social impact.
She is also a member of Vital Voices, the BMW Responsible Leader network, and the Tallberg Foundation.
