Vinny Green

West Baltimore native Vinny Green has spent half his life dedicated to two things, ‘good damn ice cream’ and making a positive impact in his community.

Vinny is the Owner and Events Director for Taharka Brothers Ice Cream. He started working there as a high school freshman in 2010 when the operation was just getting started serving up scoops of ice cream from a humble push cart.The company was originally founded by Sean Smeeton as a way to provide mentorship and professional skills to young adults in Baltimore and has grown into an employee owned Co-op with locations in Lexington Market, Broadway Market, Cross Street Market, and R. House as well as a pastel pink ice cream truck that makes its way throughout the region.

Vinny has worked his way through production, shipping, and other roles over the years to become the Events Director where he manages the community outreach programs that he says are his proudest achievements. He’s helped give out hundreds of scoops to Baltimore nonprofits like No Boundaries and B360 to help carry on Taharka Brother’s founding mission and set a positive example.
