Paris may be the City of Light and Los Angeles the City of Dreams, but for the sheer number of recognizable buildings and structures found around every corner, New York is indisputably the City of Icons. Pentagram’s Michael Bierut and team have designed a new poster featuring 69 pictograms of famous New York landmarks they created for the new WalkNYC system of pedestrian wayfinding, developed in collaboration with the special consortium PentaCityGroup. Copies of the poster were given away at the recent AIGA/NY talk about the project. Thanks to Mohawk for donating the paper and HighRoad Press for donating the printing.
