Want to speak at CreativeMornings/NewYork?

To celebrate the end of another fantastic CreativeMornings year, we would like to once again turn the mic to our audience. We’re inviting anyone interested to apply to be a speaker at our December New York event.

Our theme for December is MAKE, so we’re looking for folks to speak about anything pertaining to making—what you make, why you make, or your philosophy around making.

To apply, send a link to a short video to nyc[at]creativemornings.com. Your video should be on why you think you would make a good speaker and what you would speak about. From these submissions, a few will be chosen to give a five minute talk on Friday December 13th at CreativeMornings/NYC.

The application deadline is December 1st, 5pm EST, and we will announce the chosen speakers on December 4th.

The stage is calling…

Awesome Brad Ludden @newyork_cm talk this morning. Love when great lines from a talk get stuck in your head for the whole day like ‘Live with intention.’

Some Instagram shots from attendees at this morning’s event with Brad Ludden, pro-kayaker and founder of First Descents–an organization that provides free outdoor adventure therapy to young adults with cancer.

You can check out more Instagrams from CreativeMornings events in New York and around the world in our Facebook album here. Stay tuned for his talk to be posted here. →

Hooray! CreativeMornings is turning FIVE this month, so we’re hosting a special party in New York to commemorate it. Our in-house letter artist Jen Mussari created these props for the night—we’ll have an animated GIF Smilebooth!

At our Montréal event, Claude G. Théorêt breaks quantum physics and the creation of our universe down in a way that even the least science-savvy folks can understand.

From balloons to blankets, Claude uses a variety of props and simple slides to illustrate the most complex theories—perfect from astrophysicists and the not-so-much alike. The video is a great watch not only to learn a bit more about our universe, but to switch gears and get you thinking in a new way.

Speaking on the intersection of art and science, Claude says, “Being a real scientist or a real creative, means being at the limit of the known and unknown. And that’s where things are confusing. And if you’re not there, you’re not pushing yourself hard enough.”

Humble Pied is an awesome project by Mig Reyes, previous CreativeMornings/Chicago Organizer and Speaker, that features one inspiring creative professional sharing one piece of advice via iChat.

What originally started as a friend-sourced presentation for an AIGA student conference grew into an amazing resource with tidbit and thoughts from an excellent lineup including Debbie Millman, Jason Fried, Tina Roth Eisenberg, and Jason Santa Maria.

While many of the videos date a few years back, the advice and inspiration is as relevant as ever! Great 2-3 minute clips of wisdom to watch.

Check it out.
