Artists, scientists, writers, scholars, and technologists are just beginning to recognize and understand the potential of emerging digital technologies that create immersive augmented and virtual reality experiences. These advancements are leading us to invent hybrid interactive art forms and create new kinds of audience experiences that are popping up at film festivals museums, art galleries and other interdisciplinary events around the world. Digital Futures: The Impact of Immersive Media takes a critical look at what characterizes these new immersive forms of interactive content, their effective application, and what they may mean for the future art media distribution.

Step into 3D exhibits and be transported to heritage sites a world away, including Pure Land: Inside the Mogao Grottoes at Dunhuang and Vijayanagara (Hampi), South India, and and through post WWII Vancouver.
