🔥 Tessa Sima about Movement 🔥
We were in the new studio from @spiesserundspinner called @tausendzueins and listened to the wonderful @tessasima talking about movement.
Tessa Sima began her career at the age of seven by building a robot that shouted swear words at her teachers. Today she works as a creative with focus on illustration and writing and is based Vienna. Her work can be about, old white men, the stars, things that have never met or the ironies of everyday life. She has lived in many places around the globe. China, Denmark, Estonia and Iran, to name a few. For her work she has been both rewarded and yelled
It was very nice to see you all 💚

April ’s Theme is Movement.
The body in motion is a thing of beauty. Our cells shake kinetic energy through the finely articulated instruments of muscle, ligament, and bone. We blink, we pulse, we dance. Some even pull off feats of human athleticism and daring, from which we can hardly look away.
Movement is a universal state of being. Even at rest, the matter we’re composed of is in motion — subatomic particles whir about at dizzying speeds, to create the sense of solidity. The things that appear still — the earth beneath us, the trunk of a tree above us, is but a trick of the eye. They move slowly but at a staggering scale.
When we move together, we can build social and collective movements. Like a murmuration of swallows, we can form sweeping visions of a world never seen before. Our collective energy directed like a mighty river flowing downstream, taking unexpected and winding turns to carve mountains.
Our Wellington chapter chose this month’s exploration of Movement, Hannah Webster illustrated the theme, and Mailchimp is presenting the theme.

About Last Generation
The scientific evidence is unequivocal: climate change is a threat to human wellbeing and the health of the planet. Any further delay in concerted global action will miss a brief and rapidly closing window to secure a liveable future.
Letzte Generation Austria demands that the Austrian government makes a statement that it will immediately halt all future licensing and consents for the exploration, development and production of fossil fuels in Austria. As a first super-easy and costless but effective measure to reduce emissions we demand a speed limit of 100 km/h on highways.
In order to make our protest non-ignorable we disrupt the daily fossil routine of city traffic. We choose the way of civil disobedience in despair of all other, non-disruptive political action has not succeeded in lowering emissions.

Our last event was something special.
We are firmly anchored in the creative community and see ourselves as a platform for inspiration and networking - but there are topics that are bigger than that.
