I'm a musician with a PhD in Linguistics. My music is rooted in the Irish and Scottish folk traditions, in songs people have been singing for centuries for comfort and diversion. Those old songs as well as my own songs help me to connect to what it feels like to be human. They help me to process my emotions instead of trying to ignore them, and bring peace to my worries. I've released 5 albums with my duo The Lasses and 2 as a solo artist; I'm currently working on my third. My latest single is a song to the flowers, asking them to stay around even though we humans keep messing up. You can find it on all music streaming platforms via https://revancherecords.co/sj-thistle. :)
