We’re excited to announce Kate Wasserman will be our musical guest for the upcoming Creative Mornings Houston.
Kate plays a lot of different instruments but mainly loves to sing. She did that a lot as a kid, and only dabbled in songwriting. She went to school and decided to get a degree in music therapy to work with kids with autism, and then she moved to Houston and worked, a lot. After a traumatic hand injury brought on by a frantic, busy lifestyle, she started focusing on her own life’s healing and music. She still spends time with kids, of all ages, every day, sharing the journey of healing through music. and she’s currently working on her first album - a double!
We’re very excited about the upcoming Creative Mornings Houston talk! The event will be hosted at Stages Repertory Theatre next Friday, the 30th. Taylor Gahm will be the featured speaker, addressing the global theme of “freedom.” Taylor Gahm is a TED talking, award-winning, chart topping, critically acclaimed and nationally published multi-talented storyteller, communications consultant and speaker who has worked with a variety of clients, creatives and collaborators around the world.
We were so lucky to have to crazy talented Jeromy Barber & Vicki Tippit perform at our last Creative Mornings Houston event at Frenetic Theater. Their performance was beautiful! Peppered with a bit of raciness (for the theme of “sex”) and accompanied with humor—their songs brought laughter, some singing along, and much applause from the audience. Jeromy and Vicki are awesome!!
Here is a little more about Jeromy… Jeromy spends his days making video and his nights making comedy. He really likes a girl named Vicki, but he doesn’t know how to describe the relationship concisely because it’s complicated. Not in a Facebook “It’s complicated” kind of way. Vicki and Jeromy are great. After eight years of love and life, their relationship continues to grow. It’s just that if he calls her his “partner” then people think he’s gay, which he mostly isn’t, but if he calls her his “girlfriend”, then it cheapens the deep connection they share. He thinks we need a new word for “committed” that equals the cultural connotation of the word “married” but without, you know, being the word “married.” He’s currently experimenting with the term “Life Lovership” with less-than-excellent results. Mostly confused facial expressions and sudden limp handshakes. Jeromy is prone to strange rants, unnecessary observations and is a chronic victim of distractions. He also writes/performs music.
This month’s global theme for Creative Mornings is “Sex.” Material presented at the upcoming talk by Devon Britt–Darby is intended for ADULT attendees. It’ll be a fun and spicy event, no doubt! But, you can’t say that we didn’t warn you about the rating! See you there ;)

Devon Britt-Darby will be the featured speaker for April 25th. He will be speaking on this month’s global theme, “SEX.”
