WillowTree Staff Product Designer Karolina Whitmore shares how AI has empowered her to collaborate more closely with her teams and continue to center user empathy in her projects.
About the speaker
AI is shaping our world in profound waysâbut how are we, as a community, thinking about and using it?
Our June event was an invitation to join a collective conversation about AIâs possibilities, challenges, and the roles we want it to play in our lives. This experience is part of a larger CreativeMornings initiative which seeks to bring more participatory events into the CreativeMornings universe.
There are currently 20+ CreativeMornings chapters around the world working to co-design and push the traditional event framework! All of these events will be collected under the umbrella âThriving Through Changeâ.
The initiative to bring more participatory to our CreativeMornings universe is made possible by our Global Partner Adobe.
Our event began with WillowTree Product Designers sharing their experiences working AI into their practice. Then together, we talked through how we see AI impacting our lives over the next few years, and worked on zines to share our thoughts.
Come prepared to explore these questions:
1ď¸âŁ Are you currently using AI in your work or life? If so, how?
2ď¸âŁ What are your concerns about AI?
3ď¸âŁ What are your hopes?
âď¸ This experience is not about finding answers but exploring the complexities of AI together. It's about surfacing the experiences of our communityâ listening and learning with and from each other.
âď¸ Ethical concerns around AI will be part of the conversation, as we reflect on both its challenges and opportunities.
âď¸ Introverts welcome! There will be moments for both sharing and quiet reflection.
âď¸ The goal is to surface our thoughts, feelings, and questionsâand to highlight ways AI can support us as artists and creatives.

I work directly in the codebase. I use AI to prototype, design and build every day. I explore ideas in real time, not after handing off to engineering.
AI is shaping the world in profound ways, but especially for the creative community I think there is a lot of uncertainty about how we're thinking about it and how we're using it. So, what we're doing here is part of a larger collective conversation about the possibilities, the challenges, and the roles we want AI to play in our life.
